Arnold, 71, of Lindale Rte. 1, died Saturday afternoon in a Rome hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Floyd County May 11, 1903, son of the late Thomas Jefferson Arnold, Sr. and Mollie Gemes Arnold. He lived his entire life here and prior to his retirement 11 years ago, he worked for the Rome Fruit and Produce Company for 25 years. He was a member of the Silver Creek Presbyterian Church, Lindale Masonic Lodge and the Low Twelve Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Westmoreland Arnold of Lindale and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Talley Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Wilson officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, and at other hours at the residence, Lindale Rte. 1, Old Cedartown Road. Pallbearers will be Jackie, Johnnie and Cary Brooks, Jimmy Walraven, Pat Mathis and Josh Scoggins. Talley Brothers Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. (Note: Died February 8, 1975)
