Stanley D. Arnold
 
Stanley D. Arnold, 71, of 319 Greenwood Avenue died
Saturday morning in a Rome hospital following a
lengthy  illness. He was born in Bartow County, Sept.
17, 1899, son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Molly
Gemes Arnold. He formerly owned and operated a meat
market prior to retirement.

He was a member of the Second Avenue United Methodist
Church and was an honorary member of the Cherokee
Masonic Lodge 66 F & AM.

Survivors include his wife, the former Laura Ann
Barron; one daughter, Mrs. William Reed of Rome; one
brother, Paul Arnold of Lindale; one nephew, three
nieces.

Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. in the
chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Revs. E. M.
Nelson and Charles Evans officiating. Interment will
be in East View Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include George L. James, Fletcher
P. Findley, H. M. Haney, Jr., Frank Culp, Harry P.
Melton and Warren Herndon. Honorary pallbearers will
include Roy Barron, Ben Esserman, Dr. Emmett Brannon,
Dr. Tom Moss, Sr.,  Oscar Knight, O. L. Jones,  H. R.
Brandon, Jr. , Talmadge Lord and Horace Gillespie.
