A. Allen Arnold, 85, 46 Main St. South Lindale died
unexpectedly Tuesday morning following an attack a few
moments earlier at his home.

Mr. Arnold,  son of Thomas Jefferson and Molly Gemes
Arnold, was born in Floyd County April 13, 1905 and
had spent his entire life here. For a number of years
prior to his retirement 3 years ago, he was associated
with West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindale He
was married December 25, 1926 to the former Miss Ruby
Wilkins, who survives. 

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John Harbour of
Rome, two brothers, Stanley D. Arnold of Rome and Paul
Arnold of South Lindale, two grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m.
from the chapel of Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home. The
Rev. Thomas R. Roberson will officiate. Interment will
be in the family lot in the Eastview Cemetery. Pall
bearers will be Bo Shephard, Harry Davis, R.G. Hice,
Arthur Treglown, W.M. Sweatt and Jay Jones.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home
today from 7-9 p.m. At other hours they will be at the
residence. (Note: Died June 9)
