Aycock Dies Here Today Henry Bradford Aycock, prominent Roman, of 313 West Fifth Street, passed away this morning at 10 o'clock at a local hospital after a week's illness. Mr. Aycock had been in declining health for several months. He was born in Floyd County, May 14, 1870, the son of the late Richard and Susan Brooks Aycock and spent his entire life here. He was married to Miss Pearl Wood Jan. 23, 1920. Mr. Aycock was associated with the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. for more than 20 years, retiring from the company about ten years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Aycock are his widow and one sister, Mrs. Ola Melton, of Copperhill, Tenn., four brothers, W.L. , R.C., D.N. and M. A. Aycock, all of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the chapel of the Emmett Cole Funeral Home with Dr. Bunyan Stephens officiating. The interment will be in the family lot in the Myrtle Hill cemetery. Six nephews will serve as pall bearers. The remains will lie in state at the Emmett Cole Funeral Home until Friday morning when it will be carried to the residence until time for the service. (Note: died Oct. 1, 1942)
