Burkhalter sympathizing with them because of the death of their baby son, William Gardner, last Saturday. Although the little boy had lived but fifteen months, he had in that time became the dearest [illegible] in the home to his parents and to his devoted grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Gardner. During his illness, the inmates of the household watched unceasingly at the little bedside, for an opportunity to aid his recovery. Death followed an attack of pneumonia and Sunday afternoon simple funeral services were held at the home on Maple street, followed by interment at Myrtle Hill cemetery, where the little grave was covered with beautiful flowers. Teach us to say "Thy will be done", thru tears we cannot see, We are resigned, our baby's gone, to rest, dear Lord, with Thee.
