He was born in Floyd County May 7, 1892, son of the late Lindsey J. and Martha Jane Tolbert Boggs, and had spent the greater part of his life here. He attended the Baptist Church and for many years prior to his retirement, was employed by O'Neill Manufacturing Company. He was married to the former Pearl Johnson Oct. 27, 1912. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Irene Stansell, Rome, two sons, Horace Boggs, Jr. Los Angeles, Calif.; James Lee Boggs, Chattanooga, Tenn; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church with Revs. Max Tucker and J. Howard Holcomb officiating. Interment will be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the funeral home and the family will be at the residence of Mrs. Irene Stansell, 7 Ridge Drive. Pallbearers include Herman Ramsey, John H. Byars, Raymond and Ralph Johnson, Grady Boggs and Bill Stansell. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. (Note:died Feb. 5)
