Friday in Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with James Michael Eads officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery with full military rites accorded by personnel of Fort Gillem, Atlanta. Mr. Cornelison was born July 12, 1929, in Grey County, Texas, son of Mrs. Blanche Atkins McCary and the late Frances L. Cornelison, who died July 18, 1943. In 1968 he retired as Sgt. 1st Class, Maintenance Foreman, after 20 years' active duty with the U.S. Army and had made his home in Rome since then. He attended the Baptist Church. Serving in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with one Bronze Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service and Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medal. Survivors include the widow, the former Donzie R. Brackett, to whom he was married Jan. 12, 1949; a son, James Kenneth Cornelison Jr., Rome; his mother, Mrs. Blanche Cornelison McCary, Rome; a sister, Mrs. Betty Jane Lassiter, Melbourne, Fla., and two brothers, Donald E.
