Mrs. Davis was born in Hart County, Sept. 27, 1900, daughter of the late Benjamin W. and Bessie Shellhouse Moss. She resided most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Golden Age Club and a retired restaurant owner and operator. She was married in August 1915 to George Frank Davis, who died in 1949. Two brothers, Dave and Elmer Moss and a sister, Mrs. Nora Lee Watson died earlier. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Grady Brock and Mrs. Earl Jacks, both of Rome, and Mrs. James A. Wheeler, Darian; one son, Gordon Davis, New Orleans, La.; three sisters,Mrs. Helen Nation, Dalton, Mrs. Agnes Sisson, Atlanta and Mrs. Naomi Crocker, Rome, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Gerald Rogers and J. Howard Holcomb officiating. Interment will be in Beech Creek Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
