Guy Erastus Dempsey

Guy Erastus Dempsey, 87, Kingston Rte. 2, died Sunday at 12:30 a.m. in a Rome 
nursing home following an illness of several months.

Mr. Dempsey was born August 8, 1884 in Bartow County, son of the late George 
Anderson and Rosa Ella Drummond Dempsey and had spent the greater part of his 
life there. He was a member of the Mispah United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Katie Sweetman to whom he was married 
April 20, 1915; three sons George and Jack Dempsey both of Kingston and Charlie 
Dempsey of Cartersville; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Beard, Macon and Mrs. P.W. 
Boss, Kingston; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held today at 3 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Russell Head and Ralph Kimsey officiating. Interment was 
to follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers included Boyd Madden, Robert 
Green, John, Bert, Guy and Ronald Dempsey.

Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
