A. Hennon, 1413 Dean Street, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in a local hospital after a three weeks illness. She was born in Bartow County, Mary 10, 1886, the former Miss Dora Elizabeth Nichols. She has spent most of her life in Floyd County and was preceded in death by her husband on April 2, 1921. Mrs. Hennon was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughers, Mrs. Thad Lumpkin, of Atlanta and Mrs. J. M. Branton, of Rome; two sons, Bub Hennon, Rome and Gordon Hennon, Coral Gables, Fla., four sisters, Mrs. Lottie Smith and Mrs. Donnie Wingard,both of Rome, Mrs. Jennie Rash, of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Mary Satcher,of Texas, one brother, Jack Nichols of Rome. Nineteen grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of the Stevens Funeral Home, the Rev. Clyde Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery. Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until time for the services.
