Mr. Jenkins had been in declining health for the past seven years, his condition becoming serious a week ago. He was born in Paulding County, moving to Lindale in 1919 where he was connected with the Pepperell Manufacturing Co. for over 40 years. Mr. Jenkins moved to Rome in 1949 following his retirement. Surviving in addition to the widow are five daughters, Mrs. J.C. Yarbrough of Lindale Rt. 1, Mrs. Lewis Vaughn of Atlanta, Mrs. Otto White of Detroit, Mrs. Lloyd Knott of Melvindale, Mich., and Mrs. Jasper Womack of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, John S. Jenkins of Lindale, and Alvin F. Jenkins of Rome; one sister, Miss Nellie Jenkins of Lindale Rt. 1. Eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the East Rome Church of God with the pastor, the Rev. W.H. Gann, the Rev. C. L. Harris, the Rev. C.M. O'Kelly of Dahlonga, Ga., and the Rev. W. W. Ball of Bainbridge, Ga. officiating. Interment will be in the Lindale Cemetery. (Note: Died July 19)
