D. Jenkins Passes; Services Here Friday Mrs. J. D. Jenkins, of 220 Grove Street, passed away at a Rome Hospital Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She had been ill the past 17 days. Born in Bartow county, Ga. January 9, 1881, she moved to Lindale with her parents when she was 16 years of age and had since that time made her home here. The former Miss Zodie Gomes (Gemes), she was married to James Dean Jenkins, May 22, 1904. Surviving are the husband; five daughters, Mrs. E. J. Womack, Mrs. Lewis Vaughn, Mrs. J. C. Yarbrough, Mrs. Lloyd Knott, all of Lindale, and Mrs. C. O. White, of Rome; four sisters, Mrs. T. J. Arnold and Mrs. A. A. Proctor, of Lindale, Mrs. Sallie Laundrum and Mrs. C. H. Lumpkin, of Rome. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Lindale Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock with the Rev. J. R. Davis of Calhoun, and the Rev. B. L. Woodruff, of Carrollton, officiating. Burial will take place in the Lindale cemetery. Pallbearers will include C. L. Harris, J. C. Bramlett, Johnnie Stroupe, Allen Arnold, W. L. Bryant and Max Willis. They are requested to gather at the residence, 220 Grove Street, Friday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock. (Note: Died Dec. 17)
