Mrs. LaRocca was raised in Rome, GA, the seventh of nine daughters of Clarence and Ola Evans Freeman. She was a resident of the Spalding Woods neighborhood in Sandy Springs and was active at the Dorothy Benson Senior Center. An accomplished seamstress and gourmet Italian and Southern cook, Mrs. LaRocca had a collection of over 300 cookbooks. Loyalty was an important trait of Mrs. LaRocca and once you became her friend, y ou had a friend for life. She met her husband Dominick "Nick" LaRocca on a blind-date and he asked her to marry him that night. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on August 23, 2006. She is also survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, John and Paulette LaRocca of Providence Forge, VA and Greg LaRocca of Front Royal, VA; her daughter, Alice LaRocca of San Francisco, CA; her grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Teresa and Dominick LaRocca; her sisters, Bernice Hightower and Susan Cormany of Rome, GA, Charlotte Haynes of Conyers, GA and Bobbie Parker of Woodstock, GA; 9 nieces and 5 nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 23 at 3 p.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Lawrence Schmuhl, celebrant. Memorial tributes to Mrs. LaRocca and her family may be posted by visiting www.mem.com.
