Timothy Russell Loyd, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Loyd, died at 7:30 am. at the home on the Wayside road. Stricken with the disease of the blood cells a year ago, young Loyd had made a valiant fight and his faith and courage had been an inspiration. Born in Rome Oct. 10, 1949, son of Paul and Evelyn Allen Loyd, he had resided here all of his life and prior to his illness, was a student at Model School. He was a member of North Rome Methodist Church. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Loyd, one sister, Miss Paula Loyd, Rome, Rte. 6, the paternal grandmother, Mrs. W.B. Loyd, and the maternal grandfather, D.G. Allen; both of Rome and a number of aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the North Rome Methodist Church with the pastor, the Rev. W. Jack Lamb, officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The body will be at Jennings Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Neal A. Wimberly, Ed Miller, Leland Bagwell, Ora O. Beard, O.W. Montgomery and Milton Turner.
