Death and Obituary Notices, Southern Christian Advocate 1867-1878
Issue of September 25, 1868
COL. ROBERT MITCHELL was born in Franklin County January 4, 1801 and died in 
Rome, Georgia June 30, 1868.  In early life he was in the legal profession, and 
practiced with success in Hall and the adjoining counties of Georgia.  In 1840 
he moved to Lafayette, Chambers County, Alabama, later to Tuskegee where his 
family now resides.


Additional Comments:
Robert Mitchell is buried in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Rome.  His wife was 
Jane Ligon Mitchell.
