Scott Allen and the Rev. Bill Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery. Mr. Nichols, 78, of 2224 Chulio Road, died Saturday afternoon at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Floyd County, Jan. 11, 1916, son of the late Lindsey Jack Nichols and Neeley Branton Nichols. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Sysco Food Services. He was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and the Midway Ruitan Club. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during World War II. Survivors include: his wife, the former Mildred Busbee, to whom he was married, Jan. 22, 1946, two daughters, Nikki West, Columbia, S.C. and Pamela Robinson, Kennesaw; three sons, Kenneth Nichols, San Antonio, Texas; Ronnie Nichols, Lindale and Gary Nichols, Rome; four sisters, Eunice Johnson, Evie Carroll, Ruby Littlejohn and Alice Wilbanks, all of Rome; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
