Mrs. Green was born in Floyd County May 17, 1886, daughter of the late J.W. and Ianatha Cooper Burnes and had resided her entire life here. She was a charter member of Sand Springs Baptist Church and attended Second Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member of the Extension Sunday School Class. On Oct. 5 she was married to W.C. Green who died June 5, 1957. Surviving are five sons, James Henry Green, Atlanta, Varnell C. , Hoyt, Garland (Buddy) and Herman Green, all of Rome; one daughter, Mrs. Hugh Don McGhee, Rome; two brothers, Roy Burnes, Atlanta and Sidney Burnes, Rome; one sister, Mrs. Onty Green, Atlanta; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at l:a30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh C. Peacock Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today and at other hours will be at the residence of a son, Hoyt Green, 18 Springdale Dr. Active pallbearers are Rufus McCary, Tim and Claude R. Buffington, Malcolm and Irvin Thomas and Richard Cordle. Honorary pallbearers include A.W. Dawson, Tommy Nichols, Joe Adams, Bob McGee, Johnson Lindsey and Harvell Garrett.
