   Mrs. Buffington
 
   Mrs. Essie Virginia Green Buffington, 85, Rome Rte. 1, Big Texas Valley 
Road, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at her residence following an illness of three 
months.
   Mrs. Buffington was born in Floyd County, Feb. 15, 1896, daughter of the 
late Henry Jasper and Sarah Elizabeth Tolbert Green. She resided her entire 
life in Floyd County and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. A son, Albert 
Buffington, died April 20, 1934, and her husband Abner Cyrenius Buffington, 
died April 27, 1960.
   Survivors are six sons, Clarence Darious (Tim) Buffington, Ruben Abner 
Buffington, Claude Rena Buffington and Henry Edward Buffington, all of Rome, 
Herman Abner Buffington, Jefferson(GA), and Billy Eugene Buffington, Macon, 
five sisters, Mrs. Susie McBurnett, Mrs. Bertha Wilkerson, Mrs. Nellie Fuller, 
all of Rome and Mrs. Maggie Flippen, Kennesaw, 22 grandchildren, 33 great 
grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at Antioch Baptist Church with 
the Revs. Bobby Stephens and Don Spears officiating. Interment was in Sand 
Springs Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
