Taylor Dies; Rites Wednesday Miss Clara Belle Taylor, died Monday at 11:45 a.m. in a local hospital. Miss Taylor lived at 300 Branham Ave. Born in Rome on January 18, 1906, Miss Taylor was the daughter of Mrs. Donia Davis Taylor and the late Henry W. Taylor. She had spent her entire life in Rome and for a number of years was employed by the Rome Manufacturing Co. She was an active member of the Mark McDonald Baptist Church. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Henry W. Taylor; two sisters, Miss Adeline Taylor and Mrs. J.B. Shifflett and two brothers, Austell Taylor and H.B. Taylor, all of Rome. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the chapel of the Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. W.O. Denson and the Rev. William C. Mathis, pastor of the McDonald Baptist Church, will officate with interment to follow in the family lot in East View Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Bill Jones, Herman Hyde, Bob Shifflett, Arthur Smallwood, Harry Smallwood and Bill Shifflett. Members of the Board of Deacons of the Mark McDonald Baptist Church will serve as an honorary escort. The body will remain at the Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home.
