Gross, prominent Roman, died last night in a local hospital at 9:15 o'clock following an illness of pneumonia. He was born in Anniston, AL., April 3, 1903 and had been a resident of Rome for the past 16 years, during that time he had been connected with the Rome Stove and Range Company, serving for the past 11 years as foundry foreman. He was a devout Christian, and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church for 10 years. He was married to the former Miss Katherine Freeman in 1927, who survives him along with four sons, Charles, William, Joseph and John L. Gross, a daughter, Elizabeth Gross, and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Gross. Funeral services will be conducted from the St. Mary's Catholic church tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, the service by Father James Grady. Rosary tonight at 8 o'clock at the church. Interment will be in East View Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Walter Hood, Donald Ragsdale, John Freeman, J.A. Thacker, William Birdsong, and R.P. Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers will be A.F. Selman, John Berry, Joe Turbidy, W.L. Lacker, Jr., Albert Fahy, Sr., B.S. Fahy, Joe Deprima, Robert Ford, Roy Ford, Frank Diaz, and T.E. Akins.
