A. A. Proctor's Rites Held This Afternoon
Funeral services for A. A. Proctor, of Lindale Route 1,
were conducted this afternoon in the chapel of Daniel
and Son Funeral Home. Mr. Proctor died suddenly
Wednesday morning on Broad Street in Rome. Officiating
at the funeral was the Rev. J. E. Smith of Rome. Burial
was in East View Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dr.
Cliff Moore, Sr., Paul Arnold, Allen Arnold, M. H.
Bruce, Sr., Harry Melton and Hamilton Phillips. Mr.
Proctor was born in Texas on July 9, 1875, and moved to
Bartow County at the age of two years, where he resided
until 1900, when he moved to Floyd County, An employee
of the Pepperell Manufacturing Company for more than 45
years, Mr. Proctor was married to the former Mattie
Genes in 1897.  Surviving are his wife and several
nieces and nephews.
