Mrs. Salmon was born in Floyd County, May 1, 1898, daughter of the late Emma Watson and O.L. Wilkins. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church. She was preceded in death in 1955 by her husband, L.E. Salmon. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Doyal Lumpkin, Silver Creek, Mrs. J.C. Loflin, Lindale and Mrs. Charles Wilkins, Rome; two sons, L.E. Salmon and W.O. Salmon, both of Rome; four sisters, Lillian McGinnis, Charleston, S.C., Lucille Stanford, Fairburn, Barry Green, Cave Spring and Mrs. B.C. Morgan, Cave Spring; 10 grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church with the Revs. Floyd Battles Sr., Robert Akins and Glen Higgins officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jack Garrison, Bobby Abney, Donald Stone, Turner Evans, Hudon Mathis, and J.D. Barton.
