  Wade Abbott Salmon, 47, Chickamauga, formerly of Rome, died Friday following a
sudden attack.
  Mr. Salmon was born in Floyd County, Jan. 28, 1932, son of Bonnie Wilkins and
the late L.E. Salmon. He was a deacon of the Pleasant Valley South Baptist
Church. He was employed by Georgia Natural Gas Company, Chickamauga and was a
member of the Lions Club.
  Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Bonnie Wilkins Salmon, Rome,; three
sisters, MRS. Doyal Lumpkin, Silver Creek, Mrs. J.C. Loflin, Lindale and Mrs.
Charlie Wilkins, Rome; two brothers, L.E. Salmon, Rome and W.O. Salmon, Rome;
several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Pleasant Valley South Baptist
Church with Revs. Floyd Battles, Gene Lingerfelt and Glenn Higgins officiating.
Interment will be in Floyd Memory Gardens.
  Pallbearers are Tony Tate, Randall Latty, Tommy Pryor, Winston Combs, Don Lee,
Charles Wallin, Jimmy Goodson and Pete Turner.
