Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net December 30, 2006, 9:05 am Chattanooga Times Free Press, Chattanooga, TN., December 30, 2006 Elizabeth Clements Smith, 88, formerly of the Wax and Barkers communities in Floyd County, Ga., passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 28, 2006, at Memorial North Park Hospital in Hixson. Mrs. Smith was born in Floyd County on June 10, 1918, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Josephine George Clements. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Parker Smith on Nov. 8, 1979; and by three brothers, Wilson Clements, William "Bill" Clements and Charles Clements. She retired from the WestPoint Pepperell Manufacturing Co. in Lindale, Ga., following over 40 years of employment and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe and was a former member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Aragon. Survivors include her son, Jerry Parker Smith, and his wife, Janet, Rock Spring, Ga.; three grandchildren, Allison Smith Milans, and her husband, Jimmy, Kennesaw, Ga., Dana Smith Goolesby, and her husband, Keith, Ringgold, Ga., and Jerry Brandon Smith, and his wife, Barbara, Chattanooga; seven greatgrandchildren ; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Rome, Ga., with her pastor, Dr. Neil Brown, and her former pastor, the Rev. Don Spears, officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Hill Cemetery, Aragon, Ga. The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at each of their respective homes. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
