SMITH, FLOYD RESIDENT PASSES SATURDAY Asbury Charles Smith, 81, died Saturday morning at 5:30 o'clock at his residence in the Wax community. Born in Dawson county, Georgia February 14, 1857, Mr. Smith had been living in Floyd county for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Baptist church at Wax, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. E. Smith. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Martha Haygood Smith, who died February 21, 1934. Surviving are four sons, F. R. and Earnest Smith of Floyd County, J. R. of Rockmart, and J. H. Smith of Chattanooga; two daughters, Mrs. L. H. Kerce and Miss Beune Smith of Floyd County. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. The sons will act as pallbearers it was announced. (Note: Died April 9, 1938)
