C. Wilson Mrs. H. C. Wilson died unexpectedly at noon Saturday following an attack suffered at her home, 412 Woodward Ave. Mrs. Wilson had been in her usual health prior to the attack. Mrs. Wilson was the former Miss Nellie Smith, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Elizabeth Dempsey Smith. She was born in Bartow County March 1, 1891, but had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was married on Jan. 4, 1914, to Horace Clifford Wilson, who survives. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Harry Puckett and Mrs. Jack Wigley, both of Rome, and Mrs. Alfred Fricks of Birmingham; two sons, Woodrow Wilson of Detroit and Bob Wilson of Rome; one sister, Mrs. C. B. Bradford of Rome, and a brother, Ted Ashby of Rome. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. A son, Daniel Dee Wilson, preceded his mother in death on July 8, 1957. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. C. L. Curry will officiate, with interment following in the family lot in East View Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jack Robbins, Bill Puckett, Harold Green, Roy C. Gresham, Herman Crochran and Gene Brandon. The body will lie in state at the funeral home and the family will receive friends there between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. today. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 412 Woodward Ave. Stevens-Davenport Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.(note:Died Sept. 4)
