Mrs. Henry Wiseman Dies After Illness; Rites Held Today
Mrs. Henry J. Wiseman, 71, of Kingston, Route 1, died in a local
hospital at 7:17 a.m. today following a stroke suffered last
Monday. Although she had been in declining health the past
several years, Mrs. Wiseman had been active until she suffered
the stroke.

Mrs. Wiseman was born in Floyd County, June 23, 1883, daughter of
the late John and Sarah Elizabeth Bryant Dodd and had spent her
entire life here. She was a member of the Mizpah Methodist
Church. Mrs. Wiseman was preceded in death by a brother, John
Dodd, in 1948.

The former Josephine Dodd, she was marrried to Henry J. Wiseman,
January 30, 1901, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Sid McLain and Mrs. Hoyt Ward, both of Kingston Route 1,
seven sons, Horace and C. Wiseman, of Rome, Oscar of Kingston
Route 1, Dewey and James of Rome Route 6, John of Rome Route 2,
and Herman Wiseman of College Park; three half-sisters, Mrs. J.
L. Bing of Silver Creek Route 1, Mrs. Emmett Stewart, of Boyton,
Texas, and Mrs. Will Elledge of Edmond, Okla. Seventeen
grandchildren and one great -grandchild also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. today at the Mizpah
Methodist Church with the pastor, the Rev. J.W. Eberhart, the
Rev. James Sanders of Zebulon, the Rev. Clyde Lee, and the Rev.
Hunter Bassett officiating. Interment was in the family lot of
the adjoining cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald McLain, Namon Wiseman, Bill Parks, J.M.
Madden, and Leonard and T. B. Bing. Honorary pallbearers were
members of the board of stewards of the Mizpah Methodist Church.
