Mr. Wiseman had been in his usual health until three weeks ago and his condition had become critical three days ago. Mr. Wiseman, son of the late George W. Wiseman and Timothy Ford Wiseman, was born in Floyd County, Feb. 12, 1882. A member of a pioneer Floyd County family, he had spent his entire life in the Morrison Campground community and was a well-known farmer and landowner. He was an active member of the Sunnyhill Baptist Church where he was a member of the Board of Deacons and teacher of the Men's Bible Class. On Jan. 3, 1902, he was married to the former Miss Josephine Dodd, who preceded him in death July 11, 1954. On Jan. 31, 1955, he was married to Hattie Mae Tidwell Beasley, who survives. In addition to his widow, Mr. Wiseman is survived by nine children, Horace J. Wiseman of Rome, Mrs. Sid McClain, Kingston, Rte. l, Oscar Wiseman, Kingston, Rte. 1, Dewey Wiseman, of Rome, Herman Wiseman of College Park, GA., Mrs. Hoyt Ward, Kingston, Rte. 1, John Wiseman, Rome, Rte. 6, C.L. Wiseman of Rome and James Wiseman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; six step-children, Mrs. Jack Borden and Mrs. Willie Mae Baker, of Tallapoosa, Rufus and Lawrence Beasley of Tallapoosa, Ellis Beasley of Russellville, Ala., and William Beasley of Florence, Ala. Eighteen grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 24 step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conduted Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Mizpah Methodist Church the pastor, the Rev. Julian Brackman, the Rev. Talmadge Barnes, pastor of Sunnyhill Baptist Church, the Rev. B.H. Berrier, pastor of West Rome Methodist Church and the Rev. H. L. Bislock officiating. Intement will follow in Mizpah Cemetery. The body will be carried to the residence of a son, John Wiseman, on the Morrison Camp Ground Road, Rome, Rte. 1 at 4:30 p.m. today to lie in state until the funeral hour. The following grandsons will serve as active pallbearers: Jimmy Lefler, James D. Goddard, Namon, Thomas and Dwight Wiseman, Bill Park, Horace Wiseman, Jr. and Mitchell Shellnut. Members of the Board of Deacons of Sunnyhill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. (Note: Died Aug. 16)
