C. (John) Yarbrough, 64, of 10 Klassing Street, died Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a Rome hospital after a long illness. Mr. Yarbrough was a native of Floyd County, son of the late J. W. and Mary L. Barton Yarbrough. He was a retired employee of the Rome Security Police and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lindale Masonic Lodge No. 455 F & AM, and the Low 12 Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Dean Jenkins, of Rome; one daughter, Mrs. Johnnie Bishop of Rome; three sons, Jim and Tommy Yarbrough, Rome and Kenny Yarbrough of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Miss Edna Yarbough, of Lindale; five brothers, Leonard and Arburn Yarbrough, both of Rome, Lee Yarbrough of Milledgeville, Claude Yarbrough of Silver Creek; William Yarbrough of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Henderson-Frazier Chapel with the Revs. Harold Reynolds and Billy Coulter officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. At other hours they will be at the residence. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
