This photo was given to me by my cousin Betty Slaughter who is the 
grandaughter of Johnson & Mahalia Sheppard. Johnson Sheppard was the brother 
of my grandfather Richard Shepherd.  Johnson and Mahalia married abut 1885.  
Johnson was first found in the 1880 census of Cave Spring, GA living with his 
brother Lewis Sheppard.  I am not sure exactly where the Sheppard's originated 
but census records say GA although my uncle said Alabama.  After leaving Ga, 
Johnson moved his family to Columbus, OH where he died in 1924.
