This photo was given to me by my cousin Betty Slaughter who is the 
grandaughter of Johnson & Mahalia Sheppard. Johnson Sheppard was the brother 
of my grandfather Richard Shepherd.  Johnson and Mahalia married about 1885.  
Johnson was first found in the 1880 census of Cave Spring, GA living with his 
brother Lewis Sheppard.  I am not sure exactly where the Mahalia was from but 
I do know that the family moved to Columbus, OH and that is where she died.
