He died on 30th November 1941 in Riverview, FL. He was buried in Hackney Cemetery, Tampa, FL. David was a Blacksmith and worked as a mechanic on ships and trains. David married (1) Eliza Antionette Stephens, daughter of Nathan D. Stephens and Elizabeth Alexander on 26th June 1885 in Cleburne County. He seperated from his first wife and child when the child, John Henry, was two years old. The following is a letter he sent his wife, who was in Cleburne County, Alabama: Holcomb, GA, December 6, 1890 Mrs. Antoinette Hemrick, I wrote to your father some time ago to send me my books and pictures, clothes and other personal property but have not heard from him since and I want you to pack my printing press, books and papers and so on in a box and send them to D. Hemrick c/o Capt. G.H. Williams #10, C.R.R. and write to me and let me know when you ship them you can ship them on the G.P.R.R. from Heflin. Please send them at once as I had all my things stolen a few days ago and I am going to Virginia in a few days you can send them to D. Hemrick #10 C.R.R. and direct your letter to D. Hemrick c/o Capt. G.H. Williams, #10 C.R.R. Holcombe, GA. Antionette was born on 9th October 1856 GA. She spent her last years living with her son, John Henry and his wife, Annie Ollie Daniel Hemrick, in Cullman County. She died on 16th June 1934 in Cullman County. She was buried in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Joppa, Cullman County. When Antoinette died, no one knew how to spell her name for the tombstone, so it was spelled it the way everyone had always heard it pronounced, AntNet. David and Eliza had only one child, John Henry Hemrick , who was born on 10th June 1886 in Cleburne County, AL. John married Annie Ollie Daniel, daughter of George William Daniel and Martha Caroline Johnson on 9th October 1904 in Cullman County He died on 27th September 1965 in Cullman County. He was buried on 29th September 1965 in Mt. Herman Cemetery, Cullman Co, AL. Annie was born on 17th February 1885 in Cleburne County and died on 10th January 1969 in Etowah County, AL. Elizabeth was born on 11th February 1878 in Levy County, FL. She died on 22nd October 1967 in Riverview, FL. She was buried in Hackney Cemetery, Tampa, FL. Marie Louise Hemrick was born on 27th September 1907 in Floral City, FL. She died in 1942 in Tampa, FL. Marie married William Gordon West about 1926 in Tampa, FL. Dorothy Merrill Hemrick was born on 27th October 1914 in Bushnell, FL. Dorothy married Walter Strock . Walter was born in 1908 in Orangeburg, SC. He died in November 1965 in Tampa, FL.
