Possible sisters were MARY who m. Wm. DAVIS in Monroe Co., GA 4 Aug 1827, where JAMES Q. had m. MARIAH DAVIS 25 Mar 1825; SARAH WILLS who m. Moses WHITE in Meriwether Co. 22 Apr 1830 and EMILY WILLS who m. Cyrus H. WHITE in Meriwether 3 Oct 1837. Could they have been children of WILLIAM WILLS who m. Mary EADES in Warren Co., GA 18 Sept 1800. On 30 Nov WILLIAM WILLS of Richmond Co. was issued a passport by the Gov. of GA to travel through the Creek Nation. When 1827 Land Lottery was held, WILLIAM WILLS of Monroe Co. was absent from his children who drew Lot 28, Dist. 5, Muscogee Co. Mary WILLIS of Gresham’s Dist. with husband absent, drew land in Coweta Co., Lot 84, Dist. 1. In 1832 Gold Lottery, William WILLIS’ orphans, Curry’s Dist., Meriwether Co., drew 745/4/3 in Bartow Co. Was this the same WILLIAM WILLS who served in SC during the Revolution? He was issued on 1 Oct 1784, 84 lbs. sterling as pay and bounty due him for service as a pvt in S. Martin’s Troop, Polk’s Regt., Sumpter’s Brigade State troops, with interest from 1 Apr 1782. (This from SC Stub Entries L-N, Book M/580. Was he the brother named in the will of MATTHEW WILLS of Edgefield Co., SC - dated 20 Feb 1825? The WILLS and DAVIS families were allied in Edgefield Co., SC, before that in Edgecomb Co., NC, later in Monroe, Meriwether and Harris Cos., Ga. JOHN W. was Pvt in Co. G, 20th Ga. Inf. Letter to his Confederate Congressman is in his military records. He was a gunsmith, asking for a transfer from Richmond, Va to Columbus, Ga, to be near his daughters, “alone and unprotected”. One of his sons was JAMES Q., who was killed in service. He was also a gunsmith by trade. Have nothing on this JOHN W. after a marriage to Sadocia ALLEN in Muscogee Co. 25 Nov 1865. Children of JOHN W. and SARAH (DAVIS) were: 1) James Q., 2) Henry, 3) Thomas Jefferson, 4) Sarah, 5) Elsa, 6) William, 7) Leonidas - or Lendus?, 8) Mary, 9) Martha, 10) Wesley, 11) Sophronia.
