B. Heath               Georgia (believe to be Cass Co.) 
   to                  This indenture made the 09th day of
Tho. J. Pilgrim        January in the year of our lord 
                       one thousand eight hundred and 
                       Fifty Six between Benjamin Heath 
of the state of Georgia and county aforsaid of 
the one part and Thomas J. Pilgrim of the 
state aforsaid and county of Forsyth of the other
part wherinsuch that the said Benjamin Heath for 
and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and 
Fifty Dollars to him in hand paid at and before
the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargained and sold and conveyed and
doth by these presents grant bargain and sell and (illegiable)
Unto the said Thomas J. Pilgrim his heirs and (illegiable)
all that tract or parcel of land situated lying and 
being in the fourteenth district of the first section known
and distinguished in said plot by number twenty six
(26) containing forty acres more or less. to have and 
to hold the said tract or parcel of land unto him
The said Thomas J. Pilgrim his heirs and assignes
togeathe with all and singular the rights members
and (illegiable) thereof to (illegiable) (Illegiable)in any
manner belonging to his and their own (Proper or People ? )
use benifit and (illegiable) forever and fee simple - and
the said Benjamin Heath for himself his heirs exeuctors
and administrators the said bargained premesis 
unto the said Thomas J. Pilgrim his heirs and
assigned will warrant and forever defend the rights and
title thereof against (themselves ?) and any (Illegiable) 
claims of all other persons whatever.
In witness whereof the said Benjamin Heath hath 
(hearby ?) set his hand and seal the day and year
above mentioned.
