The Weekly Constitution October 21, 1879
The Cumming Clarion says that last week Mr. Singleton, operating on the old 
Strickland mine in that county, made a blast which exposed a vein three feet 
thick, eighty-five feet beneath the surface.  The gold was so thick in the rock 
blasted off that it could be seen in the distances of ten steps, glistening 
with the saffronic temptation of -- gold.
