Abstract information from a newspaper clipping from the obits, for my grandfather Claude Vincent Gravitt. Claude Vinice Gravitt A native of Dawsonville, Ga. Had lived in White County for the 17 years of his life. Was retired from, the State Highway Department, served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include wife, Fannie Lee Gravitt, Sautee; six daughters, Catherine Samples, Cumming; Loyce Couch, Cleveland; Iris Loggins, Sautee; Martha Chastain, Hayesville, N.C.; Patricia Benfield, Dahlonega; Eloise Ferguson, Sautee; two sisters, Lula Brookshire and Arvaleen Wilson, both of Gainesville; and 12 grandchildren. Services at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Chattahoochee Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon Winkler and the Rev. Dale Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wards Funeral Home of Cleveland is in charge.
