Williams, aged 78 years, died at his home 3 miles east of Cumming last Saturday after an illness of over 2 months. Mr. Williams was one of our most prominent citizens, and old Confederate Veteran, the oldest Mason in LaFayette Lodge, and served as County surveyor for a number of years. He leaves a wife and [several]children to mourn his departure. He was buried with Masonic honors at Corinth Sunday afternoon, funeral services conducted by Rev. H.L. Edmondson. Additional Comments: Abstraction (partial transcription using abbreviations.) My abbreviation for the number of children was sev., not 7, so I'm fairly certain without having the paper to refer back to, that the notice said 'several'.
