Elizabeth Ayers power of attorney to Obadiah Ayers, 13 April 1821

Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book B, right-hand page of folio 72:

Know all men by these that Elizabeth Ayers of the County of Sumner & State of 
Tennessee have made Constituted & appointed & by these presents do make 
constitute & appoint, Obadiah Ayers of the County of Franklin & State of 
Georgia my true & lawful attorney for me & in my name, the sd Ayers to Ask 
demand & receive all legacys & Debts of Every discription to me as legal heir 
of William Payne deceased & in my name place & stead to do all & every act & 
acts thing & things Device Devices in the law whatsoever for the recovery of 
all Debts due me as fully to all intents & purposes as I myself might or could 
do & upon receipt thereof acquittances or other discharges for me, & in my 
name to make seal & execute hereby ratifying confirming & allowing whatsoever 
my said attorney Obediah Ayers shall lawfully do or cause to be done in my 
name lawfully do or cause to be done in & about the premises by virtue of 
these presence in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 13th 
Day of April 1821--

Habersham County )   Deposeth and saith that he saw Elizabeth Ayers sign seal 
and deliver the within Power of attorney for the purposes therein mentioned 
and that he deponent subscribed the same as a witness and saw Thomas Paine do 
so likewise  Sworn to and Subscribed before
me this 7th May 1821--             John Sutton
