From Tape 33-7, Book TT This indenture made this 30th day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and 11. Between Mary Barnes of the county of Franklin & State of George of the one part and David Morgan of the State and County aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five dollars in hand paid to the sd. Mary Barnes by the said David Morgan the receipt and payment is hereby acknowledged that she the sd., Mary Barnes hath bargained and sold, conveyed & confirmed, to the said David Morgan all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county aforesaid beginning on a post oak Wm. Barnes old corner, running So. 6 W One chain & 12 links to post oak then So. 65 E 49 chains & half & 22 links to a pine, thence North 11, E 9 chains to a black jack. Thence a direct course to the beginning containing by survey twenty six acres and one fourth lying and being as aforesaid and the sd David Morgan to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with all it's ways, water, mine minerals, and every other previledge, thereunto belonging an in anywise appertaining and the sd. Mary Barnes, heirs, Executors, Administrators & assigns do at all times warrant and forever defend the aforesaid premises as to the only proper use and behoof of the sd. Morgan, his heirs and assigns, forever clair (clear) of any encumbrances or obligation which mite (might) may encumbrance the same in witness, whereof I the said, Mary Barnes, have hereunto set her hand and affixed her Seal the day and date first above written.
