All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Robert Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net August 5, 2003, 6:51 pm Written: July 1805 Recorded: March 20 1811 Poyndexter Payne and Nancy Payne, administrators of John Payne deceased, to Charles Payne, July 1805 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book T, right-hand page of folio 148: This Indenture made this [blank space] day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five Between Poyndexter and Nancy Payne administrators of John Payne Deceased of the County of Franklin and State of Georgia of the one part, and Charles Payne of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Poyndexter Payne and Nancy Payne administrators of the aforesaid John Payne Deceased for the consideration of five hundred dollars in hand paid to the aforesaid Deceased John Payne in his life time by the aforesaid Charles Payne doth Bargain Sell and Convey and by these presents hath bargained sold and Conveyed as administrators of said John Deceased, all that tract or parcel of [left-hand page of folio 149] Land Situate lying and being in said Franklin County on Tugalo river containing by estimation three hundred acres be the same more or less bounded as follows to wit, Begining at the mouth of a branch it being a Dividing Line between the aforesaid John Payne Deceased and William Cawthon thence up said branch to the bounds agreed on between said John Payne Deceased and said Cawthon thence from said bounds on said branch a direct line to a post corner being a corner of the dividing line, thence on a dividing line Between said John Deceased and Poyndexter Payne Sen'r marked by them and runing to the dry fork Branch thence up said Dry fork to a hickory corner on the line of the Original Survey, thence east along said old line to a post oak corner thence N 20 to a pine corner thence E 20:00 to a hickory corner thence N 33 to a post oak corner thence N 40 W 10 to a pine corner on the river Bounded by Thomas Payne below and Larkin Cleveland above at the time of survey.
