Cleveland and Polly Payne to Dudley Jones, 2 November 1811 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book TT, left-hand page of folio 37: Georgia This Indenture made this second day of November in the year Eighteen hundred and Eleven Between Oliver C. Cleveland and Polly Payne widow of Champless Payne Deceased of the County of Franklin and State aforesaid of the one part and Dudley Jones of the aforesaid State and County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Oliver C. Cleveland and Polly Payne widow of Champless Payne deceased for and In Consideration of the sum of three hundred and nine dollars well & truly to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold released & confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain Sell release & convey unto the Said Dudley Jones his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land Containing one hundred & fifteen acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County & State aforesaid on both sides of the middle fork of broad river including the premises whereon the said Oliver and Polly [right-hand page of folio 37] now lives begining at a pine corner N.59.W. 22..32. To a post oak & thence N.31.E.14. To a Stake on the river Bank thence down said river five chain to a Stake & thence N.31..E.37..50 to a Stake pine not corner put up by John Payne D. Jones & James H Little, thence S.59.E 22. 32 links to a Stake corner on said line of the original Survey of Thos. Paynes thence S.31.W 51..50 to the beginning having such Shapes forms and marks as the annexed plat represents to have and to hold the Said tract of land and premises afforesaid and every part thereof unto the said Dudley Jones his heirs and Assigns to the only use bennefit & behoof of him the said Dudley Jones his heirs and assigns forever and the said Oliver and Polly the said tract of land and every part thereof against themselves and their heirs and every other person or persons shall and will warrant an forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Oliver C. Cleveland and Polly [In this area of the page Payne hath hereunto set the clerk reproduced the their hands and Seals the simple drawing of the plat day and year first above mentioned in the deed.] written. Cleveland & Polly Payne Sign Seal and deliver the within deed of conveyance to Dudley Jones and that he himself was A subscribing witness and also Saw Seth Strange and Obediah Ayers Sign their names as Subscribing witnesses.
