Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net September 3, 2003, 12:46 am Written: December 27 1797 Recorded: July 5 1799 George Cockburn to Amon Ayres, 27 December 1797 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book N, left-hand page of folio 59: This Indenture made the twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety seven between George Cockburn of the County of Franklin and State of Georgia of the one part and Amon Ayres of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said George Cockburn for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Amon Ayres at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Granted Bargained Sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth Grant Bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Amon Ayres his heirs and assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of Land containing nine Acres be the same more or less Situate lying and being in the said County of Franklin lying on the middle fork of broad River originally Granted to Samuel Hunter Beginning at a dogwood on the north bank of the river called [right-hand page of folio 59] the Middle fork broad River thence North eighty de. E 14 chains and 63 links to a Stake X on North bank of said River thence up River to the beginning dogwood bounded South by said River North by said Ayres Land-- To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land together with all and Singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof and every part unto the said Amon Ayres his heirs Extrs administrators and assigns for ever the premisses aforesaid and he the said George Cockburn against himself his heirs Extrs admrs and assigns and against all and all manner of Persons whatsoever shall and will Warrant and for ever defend the premisses aforesaid by these presents In testimony hereof the said George Cockburn hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written Sealed signed ) and delivered ) George Cockburn (L.
