Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net September 11, 2003, 5:46 pm Written: July 7 1798 Recorded: November 7 1798 Shrewsbury Payne & Ruth Payne to Nathan Stedman, 7 July 1798 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book M, right-hand page of folio 143: Georgia ) This Indenture made this 7th day of July in the year of Franklin County ) our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight between Sroresbery Payne and Ruth Payne of the County and State aforesaid and Nathan Stidman of said County Witnesseth that the said Srorsberry Payne and Ruth Payne for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and seven dollars to them in hand paid by the said Nathan Stidman the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Given Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents doth give Grant Bargain and sell all that tract or parcel of Land and premisses lying and being in said County & State on the Middle fork broad River and bounded as follows to wit adjoining Reuben Nail below and vacant on all other sides at the time of Survey Beginning at a red oak corner running thence N. 65. W. 76 chain to a post oak corner thence S. 25. W. 3[8?] chain to a pine corn[er] [The edge is torn off the page, leaving only "corn".] [left-hand page of folio 144] thence South 6[5?] E. 76 chains to a cherry tree corner thence N. 25.
