Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net September 30, 2003, 11:17 pm Written: November 4 1791 Recorded: February 7 1793 John & Nancy Payne to William Cawthon, 4 November 1791 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book H, right-hand page of folio 106: This Indenture made this fourth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and ninety one between John Payne and Nancy his wife of the County of Franklin and State of Georgia of the one part and William Cawthon of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Payne and Nancy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of [two?] Pounds Sterling to them in Hand paid by the [left-hand page of folio 107] said William Cawthon the receipt whereof the said John Payne and Nancy his wife doth hereby acknowledge hath given Granted Bargained and sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents unto the said William Cawthon all that tract of Land lying and being in the County of Franklin and said State on a branch that divides said Paynes and said Cawthons Lands containing by estimation sixty five acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows begining on said branch running thence 75 Deg. 10 chain to a pine corner thence South fifty East 99 chains to a red oak corner thence South 15 chains to a hicory corner thence West 27 chains thence N. 70 West 37 chains to the begining [All?] and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rights Interests claims and demands whatsoever of us the said John Payne and Nancy his wife of in and to that Tract or parcel of Land and premisses and every part thereof To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and all and Singular the said premisses above mentioned with the appertenances unto the said William Cawthon his Heirs and assigns for ever and we the said John Payne and Nancy his wife for ourselves and our Heirs the said tract and premisses and every part thereof against us and our heirs and against all and every other person or Persons whatsoever unto the said William Cawthon his heirs and assigns forever shall and will warrant and for ever defend In witness whereof we the said John Payne and Nancy my wife hath hereunto set our Hands and seals the Day and Year first above written Test John Payne (L.S.)
