Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net October 1, 2003, 12:20 am Written: February 19 1808 Recorded: February 23 1808 Baker & Betsey Ayers to John Payne, 19 February 1808 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book RR, left-hand page of folio 51: Georgia ) This Indenture made the nineteenth day of February in the Franklin County ) year of Our Lord thousand eight Hundred and eight, between Baker Ayres and Betsey his wife of the County and State aforesaid of the one part, and John Payne of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the s'd Baker Ayers and Betsey his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of two Hundred and seventy five dollars Lawful money of said State to him in hand paid by the said John Payne, at or before the Sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Granted, Bargained, Sold, releast, & confirmed, and by these presents, doth Grant, bargain, Sell, release, and confirm, unto the said John Payne his Heirs and Assigns all that Tract or parcel of Land containing One Hundred Acres (More or less) Situate lying and being on the middle Fork of Broad River, in the County and State aforesaid it being part of a Certain Tract of Land Granted to William Cawthorn, Buting and bounding by William Aarons Land, George Cockburn and said Paynes Lands-- Together with all and Singular the rights and appurtenances thereof whatever to the said Tract of Land, being, belonging, or in any wise appertaining and the remainders, Reversions, Rents, Issues, and profits thereof and every part thereof, to him to have and to hold the s'd Tract of Land, and all and Singular the premises, and appurtenances thereunto belonging as aforesaid, and every part thereof, unto the s'd John Payne, his Heirs & Assigns for ever, to the only proper [right-hand page of folio 51] use benefit and behoof of the said John Payne, his Heirs and assigns for ever, and the said Baker Ayers and Betsey his wife, for themselves & their Heirs, the Tract of Land and premises aforesaid, and every part thereof unto the said John Payne his Heirs and assigns against them the said Baker Ayers and Betsey his wife for themselves and their Heirs, and all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant and forever defend the said Land and premises by virtue of these presents.
