Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net October 1, 2003, 11:21 pm Written: March 13 1803 Recorded: December 12 1808 Thomas & Elizabeth Carter to Heirs of John Payne, 13 March 1803 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book RRR, right-hand page of folio 66: This Indenture made this thirteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one Thosand eight hundred and three Between Thomas Carter of the State of Georgia and County of Elbert of the one part and the heirs of John Payne Deceased of the County of Franklin and State aforesaid of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Carter for and In consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Payne Deceased before the Sealing and Delivering of these Presents the receipt whereof [left-hand page of folio 67] Whereof is Hereby acknowledged Hath Granted Bargained and Sold and By these Presents Doth Give Grant bargain Sell to the aforesaid Heirs of John Payne Deceased all that tract or parcell of Land Cituate lying and being in said Franklin County on Little Shoal Creek Containing by Estimation two hundred acres be the same more or Less it being part of a Survey of Land of four hundred acres and thirty four acres Surveyed for said Thomas Carter the Sixth day of December 1785 and Granted the nineteenth of February 1787 as the plat and Grant will Show. Said Land lying on the Southwest Side of Said Creek Together with all and Singular the wrights Members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of Land and premises the Reversion and Reversions remainder and Remainders Wrights wrents etc To the aforesaid Heirs of John Payne Deceased and to their heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Heirs of the said John Payne Deceased for ever the said Thomas Carter and Elizabeth his wife against Themselves and their Heirs and from all and every other Person or persons Warrant and for ever Defend the aforesaid premise to the aforesaid Heirs of John Payne Deceased In Witness whereof the said Thomas Carter and Elizabeth his wife Hath hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and date above written Signed Sealed and Delivered ) his in presence of us ) Thomas C Carter Peter Walters J.P. ) mark Moses Payne ) her ) Elizabeth @ Carter mark Recorded 12 Dec'r 1808 Submitted by: Robert W.
