Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net October 9, 2003, 12:36 am Written: December 14 1801 Recorded: March 22 1802 Amon Ayers to John Payne, 14 December 1801 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book O, right-hand page of folio 26: State of Georgia This Indenture made the fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & one, and in the twenty fifth year of our Independence of the United States of America Between Amon Ayers of the County of Franklin & state aforesaid of the one part and John Payne of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Amon Ayres for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars lawfull money of the state to him in hand paid by the said John Payne at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged [left-hand page of folio 27] granted Bargained sold released & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell release & confirm unto the said John Payne his heirs & assigns all that tract or parcel of land containing by estimation one hundred acres situated lying & being in the County of Franklin in the said State, it being part of a certain tract of land containing two hundred acres lying & being on the middle fork of Broad River Butting & Bounding by Thomas Paynes land on one side & on Stephen Huse's land, & on George Cockburns land and on Baker Ayers land on the other sides--- Together with all & singular the right members & appertainances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of land being belonging or in any wise appertaining and the remainders, reversions, rents, issues & profits thereof, & of every part thereof to have & to hold the said tract of land, containing one hundred acres, be the same more or less, & all & singular the premisses & appertainances thereunto belonging, as aforesaid & every part thereof, unto the said John Payne his heirs & assigns forever & the s'd Amon Ayers for himself [right-hand page of folio 27] and his heirs the tract of land & premisses aforesaid & every part thereof unto the said John Payne his heirs & assigns against him the said Amon Ayers for himself & his heirs & all & every other Person or Persons whatsoever, shall & will warrant & forever Defend, by these presents in Witness whereof the said Amon Ayers hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & date above written.
