Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net October 10, 2003, 8:37 pm Written: November 22 1810 Recorded: July 12 1811 William & Catherine Mitchell to John Payne Sr., 22 November 1810 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book T, left-hand page of folio 195: Georgia ) This Indenture made the twenty second day of November in Franklin County ) the year of Our lord One Thousand Eight hundred & Ten, Between William Mitchell of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and John Payne Sen'r of Same County & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said William Mitchell for and in consideration of the Sum of Two hundred dollars to him in hand paid at or before the Sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath Granted, Bargained & Sold, and by these presents doth Grant Bargain Sell and Convey unto the said John Payne Sen'r all that Tract or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County aforesaid and on the waters of Grags Creek Containing by Estimation two hundred acres, be the same more or less, Butting and Bounding as follows to wit, Begining at a Hickory thence South 50 West 37 Chains to a Stake Thence North 60 West 57 Chains to a post Oak, thence North 50 East 37 Chains to a post oak [right-hand page of folio 195] thence South 60 East 57 Chains to the begining. To Have and to hold all and Singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the Said John Payne Sen'r and his Heirs and assigns for ever, to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the said John Payne Sen'r and his Heirs and assigns for Ever, in fee Simple, and he the Said William Mitchell for him Self and his Heirs and assigns will warrant and for Ever defend the said Tract of land & premises from himself his Heirs and assigns and all & Every other person or persons whatsoever Claiming or to Claim under him.
