Adam Southerland to Shrewsberry Payne, 21 July 1802 

Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book OO, right-hand page of folio 47: 

This Indenture made this twenty first day of July one thousand eight hundred 
and two and in the twenty sixth year of American Independancy Between Adam 
Southerland of Franklin County State of Georgia of the one part and 
Shrewsberry Payne of the said State & County of the other part.  Witnesseth, 
that the

said Adam Southerlan for and in consideration of sixty five dollars to him in 
hand paid by the said Shrewsberry Payne hath given granted and sold and by 
these presents do give grant aleniate and confirm unto the said Shrewsberry 
Payne all that tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres more or 
less lying on Eastertoe branch adjoining said Paynes land it being the place 
where said Southerlin formerly lived having such form & marks as is hereafter 
expressed begining on a hickory running thence South forty five West to a red 
Oak corner thence North forty five west to a Spanish Oak Corner thence North 
forty five East to a stake corner thence North forty five West to the 
Beginning which described land and premises I bind myself to warrant and 
forever defend unto the said Shrewsberry Payne his heirs executors or 
administrators or assigns from the just claim of any Person or Persons 
whatsoever & for the true performance of the above the s'd Adam Southerlin 
hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year above written.
