Greenberry Payne to Robert Walters, 16 July 1826

Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book BB, left-hand page of folio 137:

Georgia         )   Know all men by these Presents that I Green B Payne of 
Franklin County )   the County and State aforesaid do by these presents 
relinquish and quit claim of one half and to a certain negro man slave by the 
name of Daniel which I am [entitled?] to or my Interest shall be at any time 
hereafter at the decease of my mother the widow Nancy Payne unto Robert 
Walters and his heirs forever it being the whole of my part of said negro man 
Daniel that I the said Green B Payne have any claim now to or ever may have 
hereafter as an heir of the said Nancy Payne together with all my right to 
said Negro man Daniel or may have hereafter or shall be entitled to and I the 
said Green B. Payne do by these presents relinquish and Quit claim title & I 
the said Green B will warrant and forever defend the said Negro man Daniel 
unto the said Robert

Walters and his heirs and assigns forever from the claim of the said Green B 
Payne his heirs and assigns forever  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and fixed my seal this 16th day of July in the year of our Lord 1826

Personally appeared before me Word H Walters who being duly sworn on oath 
saith that he was a subscribing witness to the within Relinquishment and saw 
Green B. Payne assign the same sworn to and subscribed before me this 24th day 
of April 1827
